Reflecting on the First Advent of Christ & Projecting the hope found in the Second Advent of Christ

Description

The Twelve Days of Advent is a devotional podcast designed to reflect on the people and events surrounding the first advent of Christ and project the hope found in his second advent.

Purpose

The motivation for this project is to glorify God by providing the Church with a guide to help direct her focus off the cultural distractions associated with the Christmas holiday and place her affections on worshiping the Son for his marvelous incarnation and magnificent promise to return to earth a second time to be with His Bride for eternity.

The Advent as a Guide for Personal Bible Study and Family Worship

Since each episode is only between 5-10 minutes, the podcast and manuscripts can be used for both on-the-go reminders of God’s faithfulness or as study material to help lead yourself and others through a more thorough journey through the advent story. For families, parents may enjoy listening to the podcast with their children and discussing one or two details each day to help further their knowledge and appreciation of God’s provision of His Son. For single men and women, you can utilize the material as a study guide throughout the advent season individually or in a small group setting by turning in your Bible to read, study, and pray through each scripture reference. The amount of time you engage with the material will vary but hopefully it causes you to make connections between how the people, events, and details of the first advent point you to the hope of Christ’s second advent.
